Virginia Wotring

Virginia Wotring, PhD is an internationally recognized researcher and teacher of physiology and pharmacology in the extreme environment of space missions. Her studies range from medication stability and pharmacokinetics to the new possibilities in personalized medicine enabled by emerging omics techniques. Virginia began her space research during NASA-contractor positions at Johnson Space Center and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston TX and progressed to founding Deputy Director and Chief Scientist of the NASA-funded Translational Research Institute for Space Health. However, she prefers doing science to managing it, and now serves as Professor of Human Performance in Space at International Space University in Strasbourg, France
